Using the Integration Composer graphical user interface

The Integration Composer graphical user interface is the traditional method used to transform and import inventory data about deployed hardware and software from a discovery tool into the Maximo® database.

The graphical user interface lets you define data sources, browse the source data, define data schemas, and create mappings for transforming and importing the data. (Additionally, a command is provided in this section for running a mapping and accomplishing the transform, as this cannot be done through the user interface.)

The graphical user interface is intended to be used with the standard data schemas and mappings delivered with the product, as well as with those created by users. Unlike the command line interface, you can use the graphical user interface to modify mappings and data schemas.

The command line interface also offers accessibility to users with physical disabilities such as restricted mobility or limited vision.
