Actual Configuration Items application
You can import configuration items from your information technology infrastructure into the Actual Configuration Items application using a discovery tool and Integration Composer. Once imported, these configuration items are called actual configuration items and are displayed in the Actual Configuration Items application.
You use the Actual Configuration Items application to perform these functions:
- View actual configuration items and associated information, including:
- Related actual configuration items
- Associated operational management products
- Change history
- Business application topology, application topology, and physical topology
- Create authorized configuration items.
You cannot delete or copy actual configuration items. You also cannot create actual configuration items in the Actual Configuration Items application.
Authorized configuration items
When you create an authorized configuration item, a configuration item record is created in the Configuration Items application. In the Configuration Items application, you maintain the configuration items under configuration management and change control.
On the Actual Configuration Item tab, you can create a link between the configuration item and the authorized configuration item. You can link a configuration item to only one authorized configuration item, and you can link an authorized configuration item to only one configuration item.
