Using the Gantt view
After you create a Graphical Scheduling project, use the Gantt view to visually manage and schedule work in your organization. To access this view, you click the Gantt View tab.
About this task
Tools and GUI elements in the Gantt view help you navigate around in the view and investigate scheduling options. The Gantt table and timeline show the work records and tasks that are included in the schedule. The Resource Constraints table and timeline show the resource constraints, such as blackout periods, change windows, task predecessors, and so on, that might affect scheduling of a task. Both of these areas of the Gantt view hep you visualize the schedule and schedule the tasks.
If a task becomes Canceled, Completed, or Closed, it is read-only in the Gantt view. The dates for the task cannot be changed and the task cannot be moved in the schedule. For more information about the Gantt view display and the ways in which you can customize the Gantt view, see "Customizing the Gantt view."
