Use the Configuration Processes application to manage changes to the configuration items in your IT environment and ensure that they support your established business practices.
The Configuration
Processes application includes the following tabs:
- List
- Use this tab to locate and open existing configuration processes.
- Configuration Process
- Use this tab to view and modify the details of an existing configuration process. You can add new configuration items, assets, or locations to the configuration process or modify dates and other details.
- Plans
- Use this tab to view and add activities and tasks that are part of this configuration process. You can organize the tasks for a configuration process into activities to make them easier to track.
- Related Records
- Use this tab to view work orders or tickets that are related to this configuration process.
- Actuals
- Use this tab to record actual costs for a configuration process, including labor, materials, services, and tools. When you review the configuration process after implementing it, you can compare actual costs to your planned values, to determine how well you estimated, and to improve your planned values for future configuration processes.
- Log
- Use this tab to view the log records that are created as your configuration process is implemented.
- Specifications
- Use this tab to view and add values for attributes that you specify.
- Service Address
- Use this tab to view or add service address information for the record and to view information about an associated customer, customer agreement, price schedule, and billing status. You can set up a service address for a record in the Service Address application. A service address might also be automatically applied to a record if the CI, location, or asset associated with the record has a service address defined. A record must have a service address in order for a map to be displayed for the record in the Map tab.
- Map
- Use this tab to view a map showing the location of the record. A map is provided only if your administrator has enabled a map service for your installation. The map shows the location of the service address. For more information about mapping records, see "Using maps."
