Configuration management job plans
Job plans provide structured lists of tasks for processing a request.
Configuration management provides three predefined job plans to use in response to configuration-related process requests. When you apply a job plan to a work order, the work order is populated with the activities and tasks in the job plan. After applying the job plan, you can change the activities and tasks in the work order without affecting the job plan itself.
If a process request is created by choosing one of the predefined
configuration management process classifications, the appropriate
job plan will be applied automatically.
- Update CIs (UPDATE CI)
- This job plan contains tasks to perform in handling a request to update a CI record.
- Audit CIs (AUDITCI)
- This job plan contains tasks to perform in handling a request to perform an audit on a group of CIs. It includes tasks to complete before running the reconciliation report.
- Audit CIs phase 2 (AUDITCI2)
- This job plan contains tasks to perform after running a reconciliation report in response to a request to perform an audit on a group of CIs. If you have a reconciliation report that is run regularly by a cron task, you can use this job plan to specify the tasks to be performed after each time that the report is run.
You can modify these job plans or copy them to create new ones that meet your specific needs.
