Your upgrade provides you with an opportunity to make changes to not only your Control Desk software, but also to your Control Desk implementation.

As an administrator for Control Desk version 7.6 you must have the following skills, knowledge, or be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Install and configure software
  • Understand Control Desk tasks, such as creating and modifying records
  • Understand relational database concepts such as views and joins
  • Understand the Control Desk database and data relationships
  • Construct structured query language (SQL) statements
  • Understand the SQL syntax required by your database

Training your end-users

You should include training for all of your Control Desk users as a part of your Control Desk version 7.6 implementation process, as they need to know how existing applications have been modified. In addition, if you are making improvements or changes to your business processes, you need to provide training for your employees regarding your new processes.
