Configuring launch-in-context access

If you installed IBM® Tivoli® Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM), you can jump from the Actual CIs application to the TADDM user interface to view more details about a particular CI.

About this task

This function is called launch in context.

To launch to the TADDM user interface, you can select one of the following three actions from the Select Action menu:
  • View application topology
  • View business application topology
  • View physical topology
Each action launches the chosen TADDM application with the selected CI displayed.

By default, all users in the EVERYONE group sees these action options on the menu. If you want to restrict access to other security groups, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Click Go to > Security > Security Groups to open the Security Groups application.
  2. Select the security group whose access you want to modify.
  3. Open the Actual CIs application in the Application tab.
  4. Look for these signature options, which enable the corresponding menu items:
    • VACTCIAPP: View application topology
    • VACTCIBA: View business application topology
    • VACTCIPHY: View physical topology
    Enable the signature options for the menu items you want to provide.
  5. If these signature options do not appear in the Security Groups application, you must enable them using the Application Designer application.
    1. Open the Application Designer application.
    2. In the Application Designer, open the Actual CI application.
    3. Locate the three signature options listed above. For each one that you want to be able to use in the Security Groups application, check the Visible box.
    4. Save your changes, then return to the Security Groups application. The signature options should be visible, and you can check them to make the menu items available to members of the security group.
