Ordering a service

You can order a service on the Catalog tab of the Offering Catalog application.

About this task

Note: If there is no Add to Cart or Launch button, the service contains instructions only. All instructions should be detailed in the long description field and/or in attached documents.

Procedure

  1. Browse for Offerings in the Offering Catalog application.
  2. In the Offerings list or the Favorite Offerings list, click the description of the service you want to order. The Offering Details dialog box is displayed.
    Note: The dialog box might display fields in which you must input information. The following buttons can be displayed on the dialog box:
    • An Add to Cart button that you click to add the service to your cart
    • An Add to Favorites button that you click to add the offering to your Favorite Offerings List
    • An Launch button that you click to launch the service
    • A Cancel button to exit the dialog
    • If there is no Add to Cart or Execute button, the service contains instructions only. All instructions are detailed in the long description field and/or in attached documents.
  3. Fill out any required information. Asterisks indicate required fields.
  4. Attach any necessary documents. These documents may be requested per the offering's long description or they may be attached at the user's discretion.
  5. Click Add to Cart or Launch. Clicking Add to Cart will take you to the Shopping Cart application, where you can continue the order submission process or choose to continue shopping. Clicking Launch will launch the execution of the service. The service could be to launch of an external URL, another Control Desk application, or another application.
