Creating job plans for use with WSRR

You create job plans as part of the planning process, before any WSRR Change requests are generated. Later, when you are preparing to process a specific Change for a WSRRupdate, you can select the WSRR job plan that your planning process determined should be used for that type of update.

About this task

When you create your WSRR job plans, you can start with the built-in PMCHGNORML job plan that is provided as built-in content. For more information about creating job plans, see the "Creating and modifying job plans" topic.

Perform these steps to create a duplicate job plan that uses PMCHGNORML as a base, and to refine the PMCHGNORML job plan for your WSRR changes:

Procedure

  1. In the Job Plans application (Go To > Planning > Job Plans), open the PMCHGNORML job plan, and select Duplicate Job Plan from the Select Action menu. This creates a new job plan that uses PMCHGNORML as a base.
  2. Give the new job plan a name that matches the type of WSRR update scenario for which you want to use the job plan.
  3. Open the Assessments tab to modify the list of assessors who will need to assess the Change. For example, members of the SOA governance board might be required for Changes that match Scenario 1 in the previous topic; for Scenario 3, WSRR administrators and other operations personnel might be required. The specified users receive assessment assignments during the Change assessment phase.
  4. In the Authorizations tab, modify the list of approvers who will need to approve the Change during the Change authorization phase.

After the assessments are completed during the Change process, the WSRR SOA governance process uses the assessment results to complete the SOA governance process. The Change status moves to AUTHORIZE, and the approval assignments are sent. The Change status is automatically synchronized with WSRR. The Change authorization phase must not complete until the SOA governance process achieves a point where Change implementation is ready to start. To enable this, ensure that you add a WSRR approval assignment in the job plan Authorizations tab. After the WSRR authorization is completed, the WSRR operations team can proceed with the implementation, according to the dictates of the Change process. See the "Change process" topics for more information about this process.

  5. Modify the sequence of implementation tasks in the plan to match projected tasks that will be needed for your WSRRupdates.
  6. When you have created and modified a job plan to use with WSRR updates, save the job plan. Because the PMCHGNORML job plan applies to the CHANGE object, job plans based on PMCHGNORML will also apply to Changes. Your new WSRR job plans will be available for selection in future WSRR-related Changes.
