Cron tasks for software catalog integration
Control Desk includes two cron tasks defined for software catalog imports: One for importing data from Software Knowledge Base Toolkit and one for importing data from Asset Discovery for z/OS®. Each cron task also includes predefined cron task instances.
You use the Cron Task Setup application to specify what processes to run and the schedule for importing software catalog data. Control Desk provides the following cron tasks for importing software catalog data.
- SWCATALOGIMPORT: This cron task instance provides parameters for importing software catalog data from Software Knowledge Base Toolkit. It defines the parameters for connecting to Software Knowledge Base Toolkit, specifies which enterprise services are processed, and establishes the schedule for importing the data. One cron task instance, SWKBT, is provided for this cron task.
- TAD4ZCATALOGIMPORT: This cron task instance provides parameters for importing software catalog data from Asset Discovery for z/OS. It specifies which enterprise services are processed and establishes the schedule for importing mainframe software catalog data. One cron task instance, TAD4ZCATALOG, is provided for this cron task.
If you are using sequential queues to process data, you also use the JMSQSEQCONSUMER cron task to enable sequential queue processing.
