Configuring a content source

Before you can download content from the ISM Library, you have to configure a content source. Configuring a content source specifies the location for the content that you want to download, such as the ISM Library site.

About this task

To configure a content source for your product, complete the following steps.
Note: If you want to edit an existing content source, you can select the source on the List tab, select Edit Catalog from the Select Action menu, and use the following instructions to edit the existing source.

Procedure

  1. Log in to IBM® Control Desk as an administrator and select System Configuration > Content Installer to open the Content Installer application.
  2. To create a content source, click create new record .
  3. In the URL field of the Content Source Details window, specify the URL for the content that you want to download. Use the following URL for IBM Control Desk content in ISM Library:

    http://www-304.ibm.com/software/brandcatalog/ismlibrary/resources/catalog?&client=ISCCD&sortBy=update_ts_desc&rc=SmartCloudControlDesk&rc=IBM_Tivoli_AssetType_ISMContentInstallerPack

  4. In the Description field, specify the name of the product catalog. This name is displayed in the Content Installer application.
  5. Save the content source.
