Creating work records in configuration items

You create several types of work records records in the Configuration Items application.

About this task

While viewing a configuration item record, you can create a work record of any of these types, and it will be associated with the CI:
  • Incident
  • Problem
  • Service Request
  • Change
  • Release
  • Work order

Procedure

  1. In the Configuration Items application, select the configuration item for which you want to create a work record.
  2. Choose the Create action, and then choose the type of record you want to create from the menu choices.
  3. In the dialog box, provide information for reporting and a description of the work.
  4. Click OK.

Results

A work record is created and can be viewed in the appropriate application.
