CI Baselines application
You can use the CI Baselines application to create configuration item (CI) baselines, add and remove member CIs, and compare a baseline to the corresponding actual CIs in your environment.
A baseline is a snapshot of the attributes and relationships of one or more configuration items (CIs) at a particular point in time. You can use baselines for any of these purposes:
- To record the attributes and relationships for a set of CIs that you have configured into a desired state
- To record the attributes and relationships for a set of CIs that you are about to modify, to facilitate returning them to their current state if the modification should fail
- To record the attributes and relationships for a set of CIs to mark a milestone in the development of a service
The Baselines application contains the following tabs:
- List
- Work from the List tab to search for and open existing baselines. You can also create a new baseline from within the List tab.
- Baseline
- Work from the Baseline tab to modify an existing or newly created baseline, including adding or removing member CIs and running comparisons.
