Change Window Calendars application

Use the Change Window Calendars application to define time periods within which configuration items (CIs) can be out of service for maintenance, upgrades, or other changes.

Defining change windows enables you to identify conflicts between planned implementation tasks and the times when Changes can be performed. The Change Window Calendars application is similar to other calendar-based applications.

To view a list of records that have been created and saved in the application, place the cursor in the Change Window Calendar field, and press Enter. Use the search and query capabilities to limit your list as needed. After you open a calendar record, you can click View Record List to return to the list of records.

Tabs are displayed when a record is open; the tabs enable you to work with the selected record.

The Change Window Calendars application includes the following tabs:
Change Window Calendar
Use this tab to create new change windows and to view and modify the details of an existing change window. A calendar view displays the number of hours allocated for change windows on each day. You can click the entry for a day in order to view details, or to modify or remove the existing change window.
Change Window Schedule
Use this tab to work with tabular views of the Change Window Calendar. You can open the Merged sub-tab to view merged change windows that include overlapping change Windows. The Administrative sub-tab provides a view of all of the individual change windows, with any overlaps removed, and you can view, modify, or delete these individual change windows.
CIs
Use this tab to view the CIs to which a change window applies. You can add or remove CIs for a change window using the Select CIs and Remove Selected CIs buttons.
