Managing license templates
In the Licenses application, you can create license templates that specify values in fields that are common to many licenses. Using a template when you create licenses minimizes data entry and improves efficiency. Use the Manage License Templates option to create, view, change, and delete license templates.
About this task
This task describes how to manage license templates. A license template specifies values in fields that are commonly used by more than one license. A set of templates with commonly used field values is provided when you install Control Desk. You can also create license templates for your specific business needs.
The Manage License Templates window displays templates that you create and the templates installed with the product. You can view them before you create licenses to determine which template is the most suitable for licenses that you plan to create.
When you create licenses, you can select the Apply License Template action to apply a template. When you apply the template, the values specified in the template populate fields in the license records that you create.
