Using the Software Catalog application

The Software Catalog application enables you to browse or work with the catalog definitions for software referenced by Control Desk applications for deployed and authorized IT assets, software licenses, software contracts, master items, and the like.

The definitions in the software catalog can originate from external IBM® and non-IBM discovery tools, manual user entries, or a combination of these sources.

Before presenting the procedures for using the Software Catalog application, some supplemental information is described, including knowledge base, software catalog, and other related concepts.
