Setting workflow processes to automatically initiate

You can specify that when a user creates and saves a new record in an application, the record is automatically routed into a workflow process. Each object can have only a single process that is automatically initiated.

Before you begin

A process must be validated, enabled, and activated before you can set it to automatically initiate.

About this task

This action only routes records created by users. Records that the product creates automatically (for example, through a PM cron task or through the inventory reorder function) cannot be automatically routed into a process through this method.

Procedure

  1. In the Workflow Designer or Workflow Designer (Advanced) application, display an activated process record.
  2. Click the Set Process to Auto-Initiate action.
