Tracking customer usage of services

You can use the Configuration Items application to track which customers are using a particular service that you offer, or which services a particular customer is using.

About this task

You can use these steps if you have defined configuration items (CIs) that represent the services whose usage you want to track.

Tracking the customers using a service

Procedure

  1. Click Go to > IT Infrastructure > Configuration Items to open the Configuration Items application.
  2. Select the CI for which you want to view the customers.
  3. On the CI Details tab, find the Primary Customer field and click the customer icon customer icon to display the Add/Modify Customer Associations dialog, where you can view all customers associated with this service.

Tracking the services that a customer uses

Procedure

  1. Click Go to > IT Infrastructure > Configuration Items to open the Configuration Items application.
  2. In the List tab, click the Find icon magnifying glass icon to open the More Search Fields dialog.
  3. In the Associated Customer field, use the detail menu detail menu icon to select the customer. The CIs with which the customer is associated are displayed.
