Saving and committing a Graphical Scheduling project
You can save a Graphical Scheduling project without committing the schedule to the Change. When you are ready to commit the schedule, you can do so.
Procedure
- To save modifications that you have made during a Graphical Scheduling session, click . This does not modify the schedule values in the Change that you are scheduling.
- To pull non-schedule-related modifications, such as task descriptions, from the Change into your Graphical Scheduling project, click . This does not pull any schedule-related information; therefore, it does not overwrite your Graphical Scheduling modifications.
- When you are ready to move your schedule modifications to the Change record, click the Commit Changes button.
What to do next
Note: When you launch to the Graphical Scheduling application
for the first time from a Change that you are scheduling, commit the
scheduled dates back to the Change, and then select Return
With Value, you are unable to save the Change from within
the Changes application. This occurs because the dates of the Change
have changed, and the new information conflicts with the information
in the current Change record.
To ensure that you can save the Change with the new dates, select Return to return to the Changes application. The Scheduler Project field in the Change record is blank. Leave and reenter the Change record. After you reenter the Change, you manually select the project using the Select Value option in the Scheduler Project field, and the name of the project is then displayed.
