Records associated with deleted customers
Many records, such as assets and bills, are associated with customer records. Deleting a customer with active records can impact related records.
Before you delete a customer, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- The customer is not a parent of another customer. This means that the customer is not listed in the Parent field of another customer record.
- The customer is not associated with the following types of active
records:
- locations
- assets
- configuration items
- classifications or attributes
- customer agreements and price schedules
- customer bills
- service level agreements (SLAs)
- tickets (service requests, incidents, or problems)
- work orders (including activities, changes, and releases)
