Pricing rules based on IT asset counts
In the Customer Agreements (SP) application, you can add pricing rules for IT assets to a price schedule. You can create several types of pricing rules, such as rules based on count, performance, and usage.
Use sales orders to bill fees for IT assets you manage. On the sales order, identify the IT assets for which you are billing. Specify the billing criteria and calculation method. Then you apply the pricing rules of the price schedule to determine the fees to bill to this customer.
Creating count-based pricing rules
Create count-based pricing rules on the Asset Management subtab of the IT Asset subtab, on the Pricing Rules subtab. The Pricing Rules subtab is on the Price Schedules tab of the Customer Agreements (SP) application. When creating count-based pricing rules for IT assets you manage, you specify the classification of the assets. For each classification, you can create two types of billing rules:- A rule that bills a unit price by count at a location you specify on the sales order
- A rule that bills a unit price when the total count at all locations falls into a range that you define on the billing rule. You create different unit prices for different ranges of total assets that you manage.
To either of these rules, you also can add fixed amounts that you bill at every billing cycle. If the pricing rule is applied, the line price on the sales order is calculated as follows:
(unit price on pricing rule x asset count for sales order) + fixed price.
