You can obtain the Remote Diagnostics agent through the Control Desk browser
interface and then use your normal distribution strategy to globally
distribute and install the agent to workstations throughout your enterprise.
Before you begin
Before you install the IBM Endpoint Manager for Remote Control
verify that the Java™ plugin
settings in your browser specifies JRE version 1.7. If you do not
have the supported JRE version installed, install it and associate
it with your browser.
About this task
To obtain and install the agent, complete the following steps:
Procedure
- Log on to Control Desk from
a browser.
- From the
Go To menu
on the Navigation Toolbar, select
- Click Download Remote Diagnostics Agent.
The
license agreement is displayed.
- Read the license agreement and then click Yes. The Download IBM Endpoint Manager for Remote
Control link is displayed.
Note: Do not attempt to obtain
the agent by navigating directly to the download_trc.jsp URL shown
in the Remote Diagnostic Tool browser window. You must log on to Control Desk and
use the download link as described in this procedure. The download_trc.jsp
requires an established MXSession, and direct navigation does not
allow the opportunity to establish it.
- Click the Download IBM Endpoint Manager for
Remote Control link.
- Run the trc_target.msi file. The agent installs silently to the target system.
- Check the installed services to verify the installation.
