Step 2: Specifying the actual CI to deployed asset relationship
Before you link CIs to assets with discovery identifiers, in the Database Configuration application, create a relationship between the actual CIs and deployed assets.
About this task
This task creates a relationship between the actual CIs and deployed assets in the database. A relationship between actual CIs and deployed assets is required when you create the action to use in the escalation that links CIs to assets. This relationship is based on the discovery identifier from both objects.
Complete the following steps to create a relationship between the actual CIs and deployed assets.Procedure
- Click .
- On the record list in the Objects table window, select ACTCI (Actual CIs).
- On the Relationships tab, click New Row.
- In the Relationship field, specify a relationship name. For example, DPA_ID.
- In the Child Object field, click Select Value and specify DEPLOYEDASSET.
- In the Where Clause field, specify the following clause: guid = :guid
- Optional: In the Remarks field, enter additional remarks about the relationship.
- Click Save Object.
