Integrating license data from external sources
To integrate software license data with external data sources, use the Integration module applications, also known as the integration framework, in Control Desk.
To facilitate integration of license data from external sources, Control Desk provides predefined content. The additional content is included in the Integration module applications and can be used by the integration framework to exchange license data with external data sources. By default the end points used for import and export are XML or delimited flat files.
When you import data using the license integration components, a defined set of business rules will create new licenses or update existing license records maintained in the Licenses application. Before you can import a file, you must make sure that the file is in the proper format and that you supply the required information for creating license records. If information required by the license records is missing, the import will fail.
