Adding state transitions

When you define a lifecycle state, you must indicate the other states to which a CI can move from the current state.

1. Click GoTo > IT infrastructure > Configuration items > CI Lifecycles from the drop down menu.
2. Click the twistie to activate the state for which you want to set a transition. You will see a new table called Transitions from (Name) State, where (Name) is the name of the state whose twistie you clicked.
3. To add a state to which a CI can move from the current state, click New Row. This opens a State Transitions dialog box. The state whose transitions you are defining appears in the From State field above the Target States.
4. Click the check boxes of all the states to which you want a CI to be able to move from the current state.
5. Click Save.
6. Click the Save icon to save the update to the lifecycle.
