Creating a new baseline

You can create a new baseline by starting from the beginning or by duplicating an existing baseline.

Before you begin

Before you create a baseline, you should understand its purpose and the CIs that you want to include.

About this task

When you create your first baseline, you must start from the beginning, using the following steps. Later, after you have created one or more baselines, you can create new baselines by duplicating ones that you have already created.

Procedure

  1. Click Go to > IT Infrastructure > CI Baselines to open the CI Baselines application.
  2. Click the New icon to create a new baseline.
  3. Give your baseline a name and description. You will use this name to recognize and select the baseline from the record list and from any dialog boxes that list your baselines, so choose a name that describes the purpose or contents of the baseline so that you can easily identify it. You can change the name until you save the baseline; after you have saved it, you can no longer change the name.

What to do next

After you create the baseline, you will choose CIs to add as members.
