Workflows
This product ships with a set of built-in process workflows that can be used to direct a wide variety of Changes that are processed in your data center. To see a list of these workflows, go to the Workflow Designer application, type PMCHG in the Process field, and press Enter.
You can select a workflow in the list to view a graphical representation of the steps that are defined for that workflow, and you can drill down to see specific details about each step. For example, if another workflow is being used as a subprocess of the workflow that you are inspecting, you can view the name of the subprocess workflow.
A process workflow is a predefined series of steps that result in the completion of a Change, a task, or a series of tasks. The Change Management component uses workflows in three ways: to direct the progression of an entire Change process, start to finish; to manage process requests; and to automate or assist the performance of a task.
The workflow that is provided to manage the entire advanced Change process is the best practice PMCHGMAIN1 workflow. The workflows that are provided for the express process are the PMCHGFIXD1 and PMCHGFLEX1 workflows.
For a complete list of workflows that are provided with the product, go to the Workflow Designer application, type PMCHG in the Process field, and press Enter.
