Requesting services in Control Desk Service Portal

In the Self Service Center in Control Desk Service Portal, you can request services such as the deployment of a software product to your computer.

About this task

If your administrators configured a service catalog for the Self Service Center, you can request services that are provided by your enterprise. Before you submit a service request, you can search the catalog to find services that meet your needs.

To assign a request as a Favorite, click the heart icon on the upper right of the request. You can then find your Favorites by clicking My Favorites located under the Search field on the Request Services page.

You can also click the links to filter by:
  • Previously Requested: Services requested within the last 30 days.
  • Recently Added: Services requests added within the last 30 days.
  • Frequently Used: Service requests used most often by all users within the last 30 days.

Complete the following steps to request a service.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Service Portal.
  2. In the Self Service Center, click Request Services.
  3. Optional: On the Request a Service page, select the service that you want. In some cases, multiple selections are required to navigate to the service that you want.
  4. When you have completed your request, click Submit. A confirmation page is displayed, and you can create a similar request or view all your tickets.

What to do next

After you submit a request, you can open the ticket for that request to add attachments. To cancel a service request, open the ticket and click Cancel.

You can rate and review each request by clicking Add Review at the bottom of the request page. To post your rating and review to the request, click Post.
