Deployed software

Deployed software refers to software assets that are installed on computers in an enterprise and available for use.

The Deployed Software application displays data records about the installed software. Information displayed in this application is data that was gathered by a discovery tool.

A discovery tool scans the network and collects data about the hardware and software it finds there. Tools like Integration Composer are subsequently used to import discovered data into the database for Control Desk. You can then use the Deployed Software application to view the database records for the discovered software. These records also include data describing any computer or partition information that was discovered about the deployed software.

Although almost all of the data is read-only, a few attributes related to audit reporting can be modified from the Select Action menu.
