Special features of the Control Desk user interface
Control Desk implements conditional user interface (UI) features in some applications.
Some fields and other user interface controls are displayed only if specific conditions are met. For example, the tabs, fields, and sections that you see in some applications vary, depending on whether the asset that you are working with is an IT asset.
When you create an asset record in the Assets application, you specify that an asset is an IT asset by specifying IT asset classification in the Classification field on the Specifications tab. When you are working in the Assets application, some tabs, sections, and fields appear only when you are working with an IT asset. For example, if you have installed Control Desk and you select an IT asset, an IT Details tab is displayed, but the Safety tab is not displayed.
User interface controls in the Licenses, Deployed Software, and Software Catalog applications are also conditional.
