Enabling or disabling the service bulletin warning dialog in incidents and service requests

In the Incidents and Service Requests applications, a popup warning dialog is displayed when an Asset, Configuration Item, Location, Classification, and/or Customer fields are modified with values that match a service bulletin. You can configure your environment to display, or not display, this warning dialog for these applications.

About this task

The warning dialog is enabled by default, that is, the property value is set to '1'. The warning dialog is disabled by setting the property value to ‘0', ‘n', or ‘N'. Users need to use the Live Refresh action for the web server for the change to become effective.

You can enable or disable the warning dialog by configuring system properties. The property is as follows:

Perform these steps to enable or disable the warning dialog:

Procedure

  1. Open the System Properties application (Go To > System Configuration > Platform Configuration > System Properties).
  2. Click Filter.
  3. In the Property Name field, type the first few letters of the property that you want to modify, and press Enter.

    For example, type pmcom if you want to modify the property for the service bulletin warning dialog.

  4. Open the property, and in the Global Value field, enter 1 to enable the dialog or 0 to disable it.
  5. Click save.
  6. Check the box beside the name of the property that you have modified, and click live refresh to refresh the system properties to include your modification.
