Default asset-CI reconciliation task

An asset-CI reconciliation task, CCILinkAssetsAndCIs, is provided with the product to perform the automated linking. This cron task can be set up and modified from the Reconciliation Tasks application and activated from the Cron Task Setup application.

A sample link rule, CCIAssetCISerialNum, that attempts to match assets and CIs by serial number, is already added to the reconciliation task. Its use is optional.

More, the reconciliation task automatically attempts to match assets and CIs using discovered data. This happens in the background, so there is no visible link rule associated with the discovered-data matching. The discovered data that is used to find matches consists of deployed asset and actual CI attributes that are created in the database as the result of data imports from Integration Composer.

In addition to the serial number and discovered-data matching, you can add your own customized link rules to the reconciliation task.

This asset-CI reconciliation task, plus one or more link rules, is used to match authorized assets and authorized CIs that should be linked. Multiple link rules are allowed so an administrator can specify other attributes to match, or features such as case sensitivity, for a task run. The reconciliation task acts on all assets and CIs that are not already linked.
